The kayak is made of medium-density polyethylene, a virtually indestructible material that's somewhat flexible (so it doesn't crack), but also maintains its stiffness thanks to Ocean Kayak's compound curves.

The materials are complemented by a California-form tri-hull design, which includes a long center keel area that encourages boats to track straight when paddling and coasting. The result? The Zest Two is outfitted with two molded-in seat wells, helping it fit two adults plus a small child or pet. Other construction details include molded-in foot wells that provide a comfortable foot position for just about any size paddler; a tank well with bungee cords for easy gear storage; self-bailing drain holes in the cockpit that allows water that enters the kayak to immediately flow back out; and a molded-in cupholder. The Zest Two is also compatible with several Ocean Kayak accessory kits (all sold separately), including a rudder system ideal for high winds and currents, up to two oval Gaspachi hatches, or up to three 6-inch hatches.
